This article presents a comprehensive analysis of publications on the use of artificial intelligence in education. The search was conducted in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), using the advanced search option. Publications were required to contain the search terms in the title, abstract or keywords. Only journal articles were included. The dataset comprised articles published between 2020 and 2025, with the search was carried out in June 2025. A total of 359 publications were identified, with links and descriptions available through the Scientific Electronic Library (E-library) platform. A wide range of publication metadata was used in the analysis: authors’ names, institutional affiliations, the cities in which the institutions are located, institution type, article and journal titles, and year of publication. These variables made it possible to assess the geographical distribution and institutional affiliation of research groups and to trace changes in publication activity over time. The scientific impact of publications was assessed through RSCI citations counts, as well as the number of views and downloads. Classification by scientific field was carried out using OECD and GRNTI categories. The analysis also incorporated information on grants and research projects, the number of sources in the reference list, the complete reference list, and the number of citations. To facilitate the analysis, certain variables were recoded and additional characteristics were derived, including the number of authors, institution type, and federal district. Based on these data, visualisations were constructed to provide a comprehensive overview of publication activity on artificial intelligence in education and to identify key research trends.
